Djerassi Residency

I have recently returned from a five week artist's residency in Woodside, California at Djerassi Resident Artists Program. At Djerassi, I photographed the immensely beautiful natural landscape which featured redwood forest and an abundance of wildlife. (I got very close to surprisingly unfearful deer a few times at the ranch). I also took pictures of two women at the program who posed for the haunting dark silhouettes that are set against the landscape in my image- thanks Debby and Lauren! This rewarding experience at Djerassi came as part of an award I won called the Visions from the New California award. A really nice publication featuring pictures of my work and that of the other five California artists will be coming out later this year. 2009 has been a really great year!
